Dialysis provision must be increased to cope with existing patient numbers and the growth in the number of patients predicted. Patients should be given a choice to receive their dialysis in hospital or at home. Haemodialysis patients should receive haemodialysis a minimum of three times per week.

All Dialysis Units should have spare capacity to ensure efficient operation.
