Kidney Patient Associations

On this page you'll find Kidney Patient Associations (KPAs) and how they help kidney patients around the UK.

Currently there are 49 KPAs and they come together as the controlling Council of the National Kidney Federation. The KPAs are both the ears and the eyes of the NKF and its controlling force.

Kidney Patient Associations provide support for kidney patients on a local level. They are charities in their own right and they are often located in hospital renal units.

The map below shows the geographical spread of NKF member KPAs. Clicking on the NKF logo will give you the name and contact details of that KPA. At the bottom of the page you'll find an alphabetical list of NKF member KPAs.

Becoming a full NKF KPA member is quick and easy to do. As a full member of the NKF, your KPA will have a say on how the NKF is run, be invited to the NKF KPA Day and have access to our entire Helpline library free of charge. If you would like to become a member of the NKF, or are an existing KPA looking to renew, you can do so by downloading our application form.

If you are interested in forming a KPA, we have a handy guide on how to do so. You may also wish to check out the Charity Commission's guide too.

Due to the pandemic many KPAs have not been able to meet since March 2020. However, if you belong to an NKF member KPA and would like to meet virtually with other members of your KPA, you can do so for free using the NKF's Zoom account.

We can set-up and host virtual KPA committee meetings on your behalf, and any other meetings you wish to hold.

Contact [email protected] if you wish to use our Zoom account and we'll set-up a meeting for you.
