Policy Statements - GOLD STANDARD TREATMENT

Passed by the NKF 12th July 2008

The National Kidney Federation regards Transplantation as the “Gold Standard Treatment” for all suitable established renal failure (ERF) patients, and believes that whenever possible Transplantation should be offered before Dialysis is ever started. The NKF wishes to see more transplant operations carried out and an end to transplant waiting lists.
