My name is David Marshall, I am 39 years old, live in Sheffield and received a kidney from my wife Jo, in December 2009.

Before transplant I had a very hectic working life juggling 3 jobs as a company director of a long standing refrigeration business, lecturing in Nottingham and a Partner with my wife in a floristry business.

Following my transplant I (with a little advice from my wife) decided it was time to slow down a little and therefore retired from lecturing after 10 years’ service.

This enabled me to free up some time to give something back for the fantastic care I received. Therefore I joined Sheffield Area Kidney Association as Chair to assist in the support of kidney patients, this has steered me to assist the NKF in a similar manner.

I am anticipating that during my time with the NKF it will give me the opportunity to assist patients and positively change the way in which care is delivered both locally and nationally.
