Kernow CCG drops plans to charge kidney patients for transport

Kernow CCG drops plans to charge kidney patients for transport to and from Dialysis in stunning victory for NKFs yearlong campaign.

The extensive campaign waged jointly by NKF and the APPKG (All Party Parliamentary Kidney Group) has resulted in complete victory when on 5th April Kernow CCG published the attached letter announcing that renal patients attending dialysis would not be charged for their transport. Throughout the campaign NKF had steadfastly refused to accept any invitation to take part in discussions aimed at introducing transport charges for some patients. NKF has always maintained that all transport to and from Dialysis should remain free of charge to kidney patients, a position backed by the APPKG and constantly argued by them and the NKF to government. This strong position has now been fully vindicated and NKF believes that any other CCG that that was considering charging will now have to think again.

The NKF is the voice of the patients.
