Can You help Devices for Dignity ?

Devices for Dignity work collaboratively with patients, carers, clinicians, academics, designers and industry partners to develop technology solutions to help address unmet clinical needs.  Listening to, understanding, and working with patients and carers is a key part of how we work towards technology solutions.   Current and past projects include wheelchair designs, rehabilitation aids, education tools for children with communication difficulties, an electronic bladder diary, devices to assist safe dialysis, and a supportive neck collar.

We’re trying to gain a wider understanding of how the daily living activities of patients and carers are affected by the conditions they live with and care for.  We will be running our first patient-led event in Sheffield on 2 June 2015 where we hope to bring together and discuss patient and carer needs with groups of people who can influence future directions of developments within their fields.  In advance of the event we have put together a survey around independence and dignity, and we are now trying to reach as wide a range of patients/carers as possible.  We will report our survey findings at the event, and will share the findings with any public sector, charity or relevant industry organisation that may be interested in using our findings.  If you would be interested in accessing the data please let me know.
