All Party Parliamentary Kidney Group Meetings The first meeting of the newly formed group was held on Monday 31st January 2022 with the subject of COVID vaccination for kidney patients, below is the agenda of the meeting:1. Questions and answers Parliamentary Reception – Wednesday 6th July 2022The National Kidney Federation (NKF) hosted a Parliamentary reception, sponsored by Brendan Clarke-Smith on Wednesday 6th July 2022 and it was a great success.The event was attended by over 50 people, including MPs and peers, kidney charities including Kidney Research UK and Kidney Care UK, as well as NHS England, industry partners and many other government and parliamentary representatives to raise awareness on the new campaign report Increasing Home Dialysis in the Context of Covid-19 – One Year On. We would like to thank everybody that attended the reception and we hope that highlighting our mission to increase home dialysis continues the lever for change towards renal improvements and help kidney patients fulfill a better quality of life.We shared findings from our Increasing Home Dialysis in the Context of Covid-19 – One Year On Report, heard from guest speakers and various dialysis treatments and the vital improvements that are needed for kidney patients. The speakers included - Kirit Modi MBE, Honorary President NKF. Alison Lawrence - Home Peritoneal Dialysis patient. Kasonde Konie - Home Haemodialysis patient. Dr Albert Power - Lead of the RSTP Dialysis work stream NHS England, Renal Services Transformation Programme. Maddy Warren - Home Haemodialysis patient. Bruce Cameron - Travelling whilst on Peritoneal Dialysis. Brendan Clarke-Smith MP, Chair APPKG.Systemic issues were raised in relation to increasing home dialysis treatment, our mission is to continue to raise awareness surrounding this with annual campaign reports and events to get the message out far and wide.
