About Us - NKF Membership (Friend for Life)
What we do
The National Kidney Federation was formed in 1978 to represent the interests of all kidney patients, both present and future, throughout the United Kingdom. We are the only UK charity that has the mandate to represent the interests of patients.
We are actively involved in representing patient’s interests to government and the media. We campaign for more and better treatment facilities, and we encourage the public to look upon organ donation positively.
Why you should become a "Friend for Life"
The National Kidney Federation is a charity, run by patients, for patients; it relies totally upon the generosity of those who support it. Without donations it cannot succeed, – with donations the lives of thousands of kidney patients and their carers can be improved. The patients and carers know this, that is why so many of them are “Friends for Life” themselves. So whether you are a patient, a carer or just a “Friend” who wants to help, please join by paying a subscription. Your support will help us to expand the services we offer.
What you will receive as a “Friend for Life”
- The satisfaction of knowing that you have really helped,
- Your own welcome pack containing a range of renal information leaflets,
- Quarterly issues of Kidney Life, our magazine (this is sent to all our renal contacts)
- Full access to all the Medical Information pages on this web site and the NKF Helpline.
If you would like to pay your subscription by credit or debit card, or by Direct Debit from your bank or building society, please complete and return the Membership Application Form together with your payment/Direct Debit (and Gift Aid Declaration if appropriate), and send it by ordinary post to the NKF address on the form.
Your membership may be cancelled by you at any time.
