On Thursday 11th March 2021, join us in highlighting just how big an issue kidney disease is. It's not a disease that affects only a handful of people; one in nine worldwide have it. Your neighbour could have it. Your parent. Your work colleague. Your child. Help us shout it from the rooftops.

The Covid-19 pandemic means in-person events can't happen but that doesn't stop you from helping us spread the word from home. And it's even more important now. The pandemic has badly impacted kidney patients, with many having to shield at home for the last year. It's also led to more people having kidney problems - serious Covid-19 infections can lead to acute kidney injury. Never was there a more important time to act.

So, this World Kidney Day 2021, we'd love you to get involved and help us get kidneys on everyone's radar. There are loads of ways to show your support - enter our BIG kidney competition, share our kidney background on video calls, colour in our printable kidney and follow World Kidney Day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

World Kidney Day is an annual campaign to help raise awareness of kidneys and educate people on what they do and how to improve your kidney health. The Kidney Charities Together Group co-ordinates the World Kidney Day activity in the UK. The group consists of the National Kidney Federation, the British Renal Society, Kidney Care UK, Kidney Research UK, the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Charity, the Renal Association and Kidney Wales.
