Hi Everyone,

Initially I was on Peritoneal Dialysis for 18 Months up until recently when I discovered I had peritonitis for the second time. The treatment to make sure the infection had cleared was to have my Peritoneal Dialysis tube removed and have a Haemodialysis line placed in my neck. I’ve always hated the sight and thought of blood, so you can imagine I wasn’t keen at all on the changes of dialysis.

I would like to say though that Haemodialysis isn’t as bad as I thought. It’s benefited me so much within my general everyday life as well as reducing my blood chemistry levels. Therefore my broad message to every kidney patient who is concerned about going onto or transferring to Haemodialysis is ‘don’t worry and hopefully it will benefit you as much as it has done for me!’
