Dear World Kidney Day Supporter,

With more than 200 events in 107 countries, 80,000 website visits from 190 countries, 25 celebrities engaged, 46 scientific journal editorials, a World Kidney Day Video on YouTube and an active following on Facebook & Twitter, World Kidney Day 2010 was a tremendous success!

We thank you for the central role you all played in this achievement, and we challenge you to join us in making 2011 even better!

Start Planning Now

The next World Kidney Day will be held on Thursday 10 March 2011 and will focus on cardiovascular disease, which frequently goes hand in hand with kidney disease. Our campaign slogan this year is ‘Protect your kidneys, Save your Heart’!

We want to encourage you to start planning now for World Kidney Day activities in your city. If you know already what you will be doing, please register your events online here.

Action at local level is key to bring about real change. If you’ve never held a World Kidney Day event, please make 2011 your first annual celebration.

Whatever activity you undertake will serve to bring Kidney health to centre stage on this important day. If you need inspiration, we invite you to visit the ‘Ideas for action’ page of our website or look at the past events page to see what others have done in the past.

You can already download the 2011 Toolkit by visiting the World Kidney Day website materials page: http://www.worldkidneyday.org/page/resources-2

We are happy to support you in any way we can. Please don’t hesitate to contact the World Kidney Day Team at info@worldkidneyday.org.

WKD 2010 proved we can grow the campaign in leaps and bounds when we all work together. Let’s go for even bigger and even better for WKD 2011!

Sincerely,

The World Kidney Day Team

Jan Lantik, IFKF – WKD Project Manager
