As you may know, prescription medications are patent protected for a certain period of time, but then can be copied by other manufacturers called generic manufacturers. A generic medicine must contain the same active ingredients as the original medicine and undergo tests to ensure it is within an acceptable range for safety, purity and effectiveness as the original brand medication.
