Location – Worksop, Nottinghamshire, or Home based with regular attendance at Worksop Description – The NKF is at present embarking on a carefully managed and crucial expansion to meet the needs of rising user numbers and is seeking a full-time employed fundraiser, offering a unique opportunity for an experienced and successful person to make a significant contribution to the development of a respected Charity working in the field of improving the lives of renal patients, their carers and families. Reporting directly to the CEO and in close liaison with Trustees, the successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts to the role and will have the skillset and confidence to make an immediate impact. The role can be home-based, although regular attendance at the Worksop based HQ would be necessary, as would regular travel throughout the United Kingdom. Candidates will be expected to bring contacts with potential donors in the UK and will have a successful track record of securing substantial funds and organising major events. The main targets for our fundraising efforts will be through events, supporters, major donors, and corporates. The post holder will be expected to lead in developing a strategy for the organisation, prioritising the development of a volunteer base, funding sources accordingly, and in managing relationships with renal units, KPAs and the volunteers. A strong communications and negotiating background is a pre-requisite. The post holder will be able to capitalise on the charity’s outstanding reputation in its field and will receive the full support of existing staff, and the Trustees. The post is full-time and flexible working will be necessary. The salary of £28k- £35k is dependent upon experience. The Charity is based in Worksop. The NKF seeks to appoint a male or female Assistant Office Manager at its Worksop HQ. The successful candidate will be required to assist with the day to day running of the office. Essential requirements are to be a team player, have a flexible approach to work, and possess excellent communication, leadership, administration and computer skills. The ability to take minutes is essential, as is a willingness to undertake very occasional weekend working at locations other than Worksop. Experience of using database and computer accounts packages would be advantageous (Microsoft Office, Progress CRM and Sage accounts are installed) as would an empathy with kidney patients and the problems they face (the NKF has trained operators manning a National patient helpline). Salary would be dependent upon experience. A non-contributory pension scheme is payable after two years service.
