What we do
The National Kidney Federation was formed in 1978 to represent the interests of all kidney patients, both present and future, throughout the United Kingdom. We are the only UK charity that has the mandate to represent the interests of patients.
We are actively involved in representing patient’s interests to government and the media. We campaign for more and better treatment facilities, and we encourage the public to look upon organ donation positively.
Why you should become a Friend
The National Kidney Federation is a charity, run by patients, for patients; it relies totally upon the generosity of those who support it. Without donations it cannot succeed, – with donations the lives of thousands of kidney patients and their carers can be improved. The patients and carers know this, that is why so many of them are “Friends” themselves. So whether you are a patient, a carer or just a “Friend” who wants to help, please join by paying a subscription. Your support will help us to expand the services we offer.
What you will receive as a “Friend”
- The satisfaction of knowing that you have really helped,
- Your own welcome pack containing a range of renal information leaflets,
- Four issues of Kidney Life, our magazine full of lively stories, advice and information,
- Full access to all the Medical Information pages on this web site.
If you would like to pay your subscription by credit or debit card, please use the card payments application form. Otherwise, please complete and return the Membership Application Form together with your payment/Direct Debit (and Gift Aid Declaration, if appropriate) and send it by ordinary post to the NKF address below.
