This page contains details of haemodialysis units that accept patients for treatment while they are on holiday. In addition, many Kidney Patients Associations (KPAs) have holiday dialysis arrangements for their own members - caravans, holiday homes, group holidays. Please ask your own KPA.
Some renal units in the UK and abroad are willing to accept patients for a holiday break, please ask your own consultant for referral.
The Satellite Dialysis Unit at Royal United Hospital in Bath recently acquired a Wednesday pm and a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday slot for holiday dialysis.

Unit is purpose-built with 20 stations accomodating holidaymakers in addition to our regular patient population. Unit open 7am to 18.30 and holiday patients’ shifts would be dependant on availability and demand according to regular patient needs.
It is a 10-15 min car journey from Blackpool town centre (approx £12 in a taxi) and is on a main and frequent bus route with just a short walk from bus stop to unit.

Whilst holidaying in the English Lake District or South West Scotland you are now able to dialyse at the Lakeland Holiday Dialysis Unit, situated beside the main A66 trunk road, close to the picturesque market town of Cockermouth, on the fringe of the Lake District National Park.
The Unit is always staffed by a fully qualified experienced nephrology nurse and is open all year round (including Saturdays).

This clinic is run by Margaret in her own house giving your time here a real home from home feel. Haemodialysis is offered in a bright comfortable room with cable television and radio. There is also access to the internet via your own laptop if required. Margaret has been nursing for over 30 years and offers a high qualify service with excellent patient care on a one to one basis.

Situated on the south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester, this picturesque village set in the upper reaches of Chichester Harbour, is full of charm and character with its narrow streets, numerous tea shops and pubs, some dating back to the 18th century.
In June 2000 the Caroline Erskine Dialysis Unit was completed in the grounds of St. Anne’s and officially opened by HRH Princess Alexandra the following November. It enables 3 patients to dialyse during their holiday. Mrs Ellie Faber, a renal trained nurse, supervises the dialysis.

This is a spacious 20-station facility at the Royal Cornwall Hospital together with a satellite unit in Penzance. The renal unit is supported by four consultant nephrologists working together with specialist nurses, renal technicians and clinical support staff. Cornwall is a popular tourist destination and the limited availability for holiday dialysis is in high demand. Holiday dialysis sessions are offered in the evenings (after 5 pm) either in Truro or Penzance. Patients wishing to enquire about availability for dialysis in Cornwall should ask their home dialysis unit holiday co-ordinator to contact us via our email account.

We are a NHS service providing haemodialysis treatment at our units in York, Easingwold and Harrogate.
All our units are conveniently situated for holidays in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors and coastline. Holiday bookings are taken all year round including Christmas time. All units have free patient parking available, televisions at each station and light refreshments for patients on dialysis. York Renal Unit also has free broadband wifi access for patients. Short notice bookings are welcomed if capacity allows.
