Crete

Mesogeios - Haemodialysis facilities (30 units) on Crete (near the city of Heraklerion). Patients from the EC (including the UK) will not be charged for the haemodialysis sessions provided they bring with them their E111 form and also their dialysers (for each session).

Cyprus

The Royal Artemis Medical Center in Cyprus offers high standards of service for haemodialysis patients.

The small town of Trapani is located on the north-western coast of Sicily. It is famous for tuna fishing and salt production, and in recent times, for hosting the 8th and 9th stages of the Louis Vuitton Cup, part of America’s Cup.

Most of the town’s monuments and points of interest lie in the old town with vestiges of Spanish, Baroque and Moorish influence. The town itself, once enclosed by defensive walls, is now a network of interconnecting, narrow streets, stretching across the peninsula to the sea.

Trapani is also renowned for its fine seafood and Sicilian cuisine and is a good base for anyone wanting to explore this part of Sicily. Interesting points of call are the medieval, walled, hilltop town of Erice, Marsala, famous for its sweet Marsala wine and where in September it is possible to visit the grape harvest, and the magnificent Egadi Islands, a few miles off its coast.
