NKF Chief Executive comments on the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Appraisal on Immunosuppressents

Tim Statham, Chief Executive of the National Kidney Federation (NKF) said “The importance of patients continuing to receive the most appropriate treatments for them cannot be overstated.  Continued freedom of choice for transplanted patients and physicians in the choice of immunosuppressant medication is key to minimising graft loss and to prolonging both the patients quality of life and in some cases life itself.  It is vital that any decision made by NICE will be reflective of the need to ensure that the patient receives optimal treatment and the longest possible life of the graft.”
