If you live in Northern Ireland you may find it useful to visit the Social Security Agency for Northern Ireland’s website which gives information about benefits.

DLA and Attendance Allowance Helpline

The Disability and Carers Service is part of the Department of Work and Pensions. They have 11 Regional Benefit Centres across the UK and may be able to arrange for a visiting officer to come and see you in your own home. For more information contact the Disability Benefits Unit.

Disability Alliance

The Disability Alliance produces a range of information about benefits and operates a free Rights Advice Line for members of the public.

The Pensions Service

The Government has set up The Pension Service to improve the service you receive, whether you are already a pensioner or are planning for your retirement, no matter how far off it might be.

The Pension Service has a network of pension centres. One central contact number connects you to the centre nearest to you.

The Pension Service was set up to:-

• Work out the amount of State Pension and Pension Credit that you are entitled to
• Provide a face to face service in a place that is convenient for you or in the comfort of your own home if your business cannot be dealt with over the telephone
• Tell you how you can access other pension-related entitlements and services
• Help with applying for benefits
• Work in partnership with other local organisations to deliver pension-related services.
